Austin prices
Angi’s Austin gutter guard page (updated June 2026) says installation averages $1,047 in Austin, with most homeowners spending between $862 and $1,971. The same page puts Austin guards at $5 to $13 per linear foot.
National prices
Angi’s national gutter guard page (updated October 2026) puts the national average at $1,521, with most homeowners spending between $653 and $2,457. The same page says installation runs $6 to $13 per linear foot including materials and labor, and micro-mesh averages $9 per linear foot installed.
HomeGuide’s gutter guard cost guide (dated February 2026) says guards cost $3,000 to $9,000 on average with professional installation, based on 200 linear feet. The same guide puts materials alone at $200 to $1,000.
Guard types and material prices
We install micro-mesh and screen guards. Micro-mesh is a fine metal mesh over the gutter, a reverse curve guard is a solid hood that curves water around its lip into the gutter, and foam is a block that sits inside the gutter. The materials prices in the table come from HomeGuide’s gutter guard cost guide, dated February 2026, and are before installation.
| Guard type | Per linear foot |
|---|---|
| Micro-mesh | $2.00 to $5.00 |
| Reverse curve | $3.50 to $10.00 |
| Foam | $1.50 to $3.50 |
Are gutter guards worth it?
HomeGuide (February 2026) says guards may be worth it if your gutters clog or need cleaning often, or if you have trouble reaching them to clean them safely. The same guide says gutters with guards need less frequent maintenance but still need some care, and most experts recommend cleaning at least annually.
HomeGuide (February 2026) says customer reports show some reverse curve and fine mesh guards don’t perform as well in heavy rain because fast-falling water falls off them and misses the gutter. Angi’s gutter cleaning page (updated October 2026) says guards can cut cleaning costs by up to 50%, though they still need periodic sweeping.
Micro-mesh or screens under live oaks
Live oaks drop small leaves and stringy catkins that slip through the larger holes of a screen guard. That’s why we suggest micro-mesh under live oaks and screens where trees drop bigger leaves. We install both types as part of our gutter guard installation.
